Our colleague came in last week to report her 7 month old son's favourite baby toy is now officially the baby whoozit. He loves the bright colours and can now lift the nose and peer at the mirror. She has also washed the whoozit in the washing machine and it looks fine, much better than it did after being chewed for the last 4 months. Last Saturday Rumpus was visited by Lizzie Finlay, the children's author and illustarator. Lizzie read her wonderful book 'Little Croc's Purse', playing games and the reading was finished off with chocolate coins in special save, spend and share envelopes and special lemonade. Lizzie Finlay's first book she wrote and illustrated, 'Dandylion' has been long listed for the Kate Greenaway Prize, good luck Lizzie!

Recommended high chair toys are the whoozit table top toy that can be batted and distracts babies while we try and get food in them! We've also found the whoozit water mat helpful. It is a great interactive, visually stimulating toy for prams, car seats and buggies. As your baby gets older they will start to play with the toys hanging from the satin ribbons, and initially will be intrigued by the highly defined images which are designed scientificaaly to allow young babies to see them clearly.

We've had a few customers asking for washing instructions for baby whoozit and whoozit. Surface wash with cold water and leave to air dry, you can speed it up by popping it into the airing cupboard. Some customers have put them in the washing machine on a synthetics wash and they've been fine, even though it is not officially recommended! We've had a great Christmas at Rumpus, thank you to all our customers, and a Happy New Year! We also one the best window in Didsbury (where we are based) competition with the theme 'let it snow', which turned out to be very appropriate, with lots of snow the week before Christmas, and like the rest of the country even more in the new year.

Manhattan toy company are releasing some new whoozit products in the new year which we will be adding to our website as soon as they are available.

We have another new baby to celebrate, Louise’s sister in law had a son 2 weeks ago. Obviously we’ve already sent him his first Whoozit toy, a baby whoozit.

The whoozit-toys website has put a number of new products on the site, including the whoozit cosmic water teether, a long term favourite in the Rumpus shop, the alternative colours in the Skwish (Skwish Natural and Skwish Colourburst), the Winkel Colourburst, and the gorgeous snuggle pod dolls from Manhattan, lil’ peanut, sweet pea and hunny bunny. We’re also very pleased with the new Whoozit Table Top Toy, highchair toys are difficult to come by and this one is perfect.

Whoozit toys from Rumpus, is run by Rumpus, a beautiful toy shop in Didsbury, South Manchester, and Garry who does the technical bits. We stock a range of toys from birth to 8 years old, which are educational, safe and fun. We aim to provide the best possible options available in the market, bearing in mind playability, safety, your child’s development and value for money. We specialise in the Manhattan Toy Company Whoozit range, which we believe provides the best baby toys. The Whoozit range has been developed by combining scientific principles and beautiful fun design.

The baby toy side of the business is run by Louise and her team. The team is made up of Sarah, Ruth, Lorna (all with parents), Kat, Kate and Rachel (who’s just become a first time mum!). All our children have road tested the products we sell through the years, and if a product doesn’t engage our children, or isn’t durable, then we drop it from the range, conversely we feel almost evangelical about other baby toys, such as the Baby Whoozit, the Winkel, the Skwish, etc.

Our first experience of Manhattan Toy Company’s range was with the Skwish, played by Louise’s first child in 1998 and shortly followed by the baby whoozit, given as a present by an American friend. Both massive hits! Since then we have sold many, many Whoozit and Manhattan Toy Company baby toys.

With the new website www.whoozit-toys.co.uk we will be providing the best Whoozit baby toys and other highlights from the Manhattan Toy Company baby toy range, such as the Winkel and the Skwish at the lowest prices possible to the U.K. market.

In the next couple of weeks we will be launching some new Whoozit products onto the website which we have now tested with some friends’ babies, so watch this space.
